Overview:

Children with an identified hearing loss of any degree are eligible for educational services from the time of identification (newborn) through the age of 21, as needed. These services are entitled under federal law (IDEA). The types and level of services can vary and change over the educational lifetime of any child as determined by his/her needs. Statewide Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing assists school districts and families in determining appropriate services to ensure the development of language as well as promoting access to the curriculum for deaf and hard of hearing students.
